These tools allow a developer to create a library of commonly used objects that can be employed in other knowledge bases. The objects from the library knowledge base can be either linked copies or local copies; linked copies are read only versions of the object and maintain the link with the library knowledge base so changes to these objects in the library are propagated through, whereas local copies are independent copies of the original and can be modified further. The library knowledge bases that are presented in the build tool (to copy from) are the ones present in the same folder as the knowledge base under development.
When the developer attempts to open a linked object (also known as an object shortcut), the platform will present the option of launching another browser tab containing the library knowledge base in which the actual object will be opened.
